At Boxed-In Mushroom Company, we don’t use just any alcohol. We use certified organic sugar cane alcohol, and there are three very good reasons why.


1. Most Mushroom Tinctures Use Industrial Corn Alcohol

Most companies use food-grade ethanol made from conventionally grown corn. Why?

Because it’s cheap. But here’s the problem:

  • It’s often made from GMO corn

  • It may contain residual pesticides or solvents

  • It’s mass-produced in industrial distilleries without concern for quality or sustainability


For us, that’s not good enough. If we’re going to make something you put in your body every day, it needs to be clean, pure, and intentional.


2. Organic Sugar Cane Alcohol Is Clean and Non-GMO

Our alcohol is made from certified organic sugar cane—grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs. It’s:

  • Non-GMO and allergen-free

  • Naturally gluten-free

  • Distilled with care, specifically for use in herbal tinctures and wellness products


We believe that if the mushroom is clean, the alcohol that carries it should be too.
